Exclusive Albums will no longer appear in the Album List. That makes the “Exclusive” column redundant. I’m too lazy the change it though.

Photo Album up and running
The Photo Album is complete. I’d say 95%… I’m still implementing access rights and privileges. Essentially people won’t be able to see all the pictures I have. I’m keeping certain pictures private or viewable only by certain people.

Waste of time
I wasted about an hour trying to track down a problem in my encryption algorithm. I still can’t find it! Right now I’m using a crude hack to fix the problem. It fixes it… and works about 99% of the time. I have another idea though… hmm… Anyway, Photo Album should be up and running by the end of today…

Photo Album nearing completion
I have been able to generate thumbnails. All I need to do now is spawn a window with a larger version of the image… that and a few cosmetic aspects. Like how the colour fades in and out? Pretty neat huh?

Photo Album still WIP
I know the Photo Album pops up with a list of all albums, but it is still work in progress. You might (and most probably will) notice this page crashing. Sometimes this window might open up with the borders screwed up and none of the links showing. That’s because I broke the back-end or I’m working on it. Sometimes the links won’t work. That’s because I broke the Javascript files or I’m working on them. This entire website is WIP so you’ll probably notice a lot of that. I have to sleep now. Need to shorten my assembly code again.

I’ve finished the Update Photo Tool… Finally! There was so much error checking… Anyway, I’m going to start work on the actual Photo page… Expect to see stuff on it soon.

Move Photo Tool?
I just realized that I might need to create a “Move Photo Tool”. But it’s not that important. I’m almost done with the “Update Photo” tool. The front-end is done, so I just need to finish up the PHP back-end. I’m anxious to get the Photo Album up and running… so I’ll just add the rest of the tools later.

Ecological Simulators and Photo Albums
I finished the “Delete Photos” page on the Photo Album Tools page… which of course, none of you can see, since it’s in the admin section. But anyway… It took me this long, because I had other stuff to take care of… namely CSE 421. I only have the “Update Photos” tool to finish… after that, I should start working on the actual photo album display page. In other news, I’m working on a JavaScript version of my Perl Ecological simulator (the one that ran wild on ASU’s general server… ohhh I’m so proud of myself). Except in this case, it’s objects that are killing each other… it should give me a lot more flexibility. My creatures even have randomly generated names like “zexoyiwub” and “xorigewor”. It’s going to be fun… once/if I finish it.

I probably should document my code. It’s not cool coming back to it after three months and wondering what the hell you were smoking when you wrote it.
I managed to figure out (vaguely) how I got fly working. I know I did something weird to the makefiles. I think I had to link it explicitly or something. Anyway, I can add Photos properly now. All I need to do is finish the “Delete Photos” and “Update Photos” option. Then I can put up the photo album for real. I need to make a non IE5.5+ version too… so that other people can use the photo album at least. I wish everyone would use IE. Seriously. Alright, alright… now you’re probably thinking “What? You can’t say that! That’s an affront to nerds everywhere!”… Microsoft is Evil, but it sure as hell makes my coding a whole lot easier if everyone just stuck to IE. Then there’s .001% Mozilla crowd going. Oh Mozilla is SOOOOOO much better than IE and Microsoft is Evil and you’re a traitor! Yeah whatever. Makes my job SOOOOOO much easier. Stick to IE and while you’re at it, PLEASE upgrade to the latest version – i.e 6.0 (eh? eh? get the pun?) If you’re still using IE4.0, that was sooo 4 years ago! UPGRADE!

GD and FLY
I just installed GD so I’m on my way to creating a dynamic photo album. Marc has given me no promises about recompiling PHP with GD so I found an interpreter (fly) that should work with PHP. Nothing else… June 3rd is only two weeks away… I really don’t want to leave…
